Canon EOS-1D X Press Release

Tuesday, October 25th, 2011

Here a press release about the new Canon EOS-1D X. I’m still sticking to my old and ageing Canon 30D. Being a hobbyist, I don’t really want to splurge and upgrade all the time. Mainly, if I can continue to take good photos with my existing photography equipment, there is no hurry to change unless my current equipment goes kaput such as my last couple of digital compact cameras.

Going for this pro DSLR, with its huge 18.1 megapixel full frame sensor, your photo size would be very large especially if you store them in RAW format. If you plan on doing serious photography or need really high quality photos for sale, then that is the way to go. For simple pleasures for your own hobby portfolio or family album, such huge sizes are overkill.

Still there are power photographers just as there are power users for digital gadgets and computers for those who want to squeeze out every bit of feature from their equipment. So this would be it I suppose! (more…)

Canon EOS 30D Battery

Thursday, November 25th, 2010

There are two Canon EOS 30D batteries which you have to take note. Thursday, April 1st, 2010

My friend sends me an article with the title “Study: Cheap Cameras Break More than Expensive Ones, and Panasonic Breaks Least”. Thinking back on my experience on photography equipment that I bought, I agree with the title. The article should read “Cheap Compact Cameras breaks more…” as the study only refers to compact cameras and not on DSLR because they didn’t have enough data for comparison of DSLR camera warranty claim. Canon Shutter Button Problem

At first it happened to my brother-in-law’s Canon EOS 40D DSLR camera, and then now it was my Canon EOS 30D DSLR shutter button that was not working.

The Canon shutter button problem is rather irritating when it happens. You will still be able to get a focus lock, but upon further depressing the shutter button, the shutter would not release!

“What gives?” and you will be wondering what happened to your Canon DSLR camera. (more…)

If you find the photography basics picture style format is less than what you want, you could do more than just tweak the basic photography style settings by uploading additional Canon Picture Styles.
